About the Founder

My name is Joshua Smario, founder of JDS Fireline Solutions, LLC and creator of the Red Bank Rescue Pack™.

I am a CAL FIRE Fire Apparatus Engineer with nearly a decade of fire service experience. Throughout my career, I have served at Red Bank Fire Station, Red Bluff Headquarters, Baker Fire Station, Bowman Fire Station, Vina Helitack. My experience includes wildland firefighting, emergency medical response, rescue operations, helicopter rescue operations, and assignments on some of California's largest wildland fires.

During my time in the fire service, I recognized a recurring challenge: providing medical care and moving injured firefighters and personnel in remote environments during suppression efforts when traditional rescue equipment was unavailable, impractical, or too far away leading to further injury or fatalities.

That challenge inspired the development of the Red Bank Rescue Pack™. named in homage to Red Bank Fire station where my journey started with the fire service in 2016.

What began as a simple idea evolved into a mission to create practical, firefighter-designed equipment solutions for the fire service. Today, JDS Fireline Solutions continues to focus on innovation, field testing, and developing equipment designed to meet the real-world needs of firefighters and emergency responders.

The Red Bank Rescue Pack™ is currently undergoing firefighter evaluation and continued development as we work toward bringing this firefighter-driven solution to the fire service community.
